Policy Framework
These pages look at the national, regional and local policy frameworks for planning and delivering of Green Infrastructure. They list relevant Planning Policy Statements, outlines regional policy and strategies including the Regional Economic Strategy, Regional Spatial Strategy and various environmental strategies.
The Coalitition Government:
a) are progressing with Structural Reform to make localism and the Big Society part for everyday life resulting in the abolition of Regional Spatial Strategies and other initiative to decentralise power from the government to local people.
b) believes in a need to protect the environment for future generations, make our economy more environmentally sustainable, and improve our quality of life and well-being. It also believes that much more needs to be done to support the farming industry, protect biodiversity and encourage sustainable food production.
